Back in May, Canon announced its intention to transition its production printing products to a separate dedicated Canon Group entity, Océ Australia, to enable greater focus to this specialised market segment. The split comes into force on January 1st 2018 and now Craig Nethercott has been appointed to the role of CEO of Océ in the Oceania region and will take up the position in October when he will begin the setting up of Océ Australia.

Anton Schaaf, CEO and President of Océ globally, said back in May that the change in its go-to market approach for production printing products is all about enhancing customer service.

“Océ is renowned for its quality and engineering excellence. Australia and the wider Oceania region is a unique and strategically important market for us. This allows us to be more connected to our customers and provide more direct support when they need it most”.

Nethercott has held senior positions within the Canon and Océ companies in the UK and has spent many years within the graphic arts industry.

It is exciting times for the Canon and Océ companies due to the success of their Arizona flatbed printers and of course with the recent launch of Columbia printer using the UV Gel ink. Then they also have the successfull imagePROGRAF range and the ColorWave range.
