The Jeti Tauro H2500 LED is the flagship in Agfa Graphics’ wide-format UV-inkjet printer portfolio. This 2.5m wide hybrid UV inkjet printer with an integrated roll-to-roll system features continuous and automated feeding of a wide range of flexible and rigid media, including several types of corrugated board. As of FESPA, the Jeti Tauro will rely on LED-curing technology as an alternative for the high energy-consuming mercury bulb lamps.

“Equipped with UV LED lamps for the curing process, the Jeti Tauro LED comes with a number of economical and ecological benefits,” explains Reinhilde Alaert, Product Manager, Agfa Graphics. “LEDs have minimal heat output, for example, which allows for printing on thin heat sensitive media such as styrene sheets and rolls. They also ensure very stable bi-directional calibration and higher system up times (no warming up or cooling down time) on top of the significant power savings. All of that has a positive effect on the ROI of the system.”
Agfa Graphics Jeti Tauro H2500 LEDAt FESPA, Agfa Graphics also presents a selection of its other UV inkjet printers with LED curing:
•    The new Jeti Ceres RTR3200 LED is a true workhorse, combining high productivity with stunning image quality on a wide variety of roll-to-roll media. The optional white printing capability yields a new level of image vivacity, while the rapid dual-sided printing amplifies the impact of backlit or block-out print applications. Jeti Ceres has all features on board for high-end roll-to-roll printing such as skip white, media free fall, and end-of-roll warning.
•    The true flatbed six colour + white Jeti Mira 2732 HS LED is Agfa Graphics’ highly versatile moving gantry solution. At Fespa it is equipped with the optional dockable roll-to-roll option. Its ‘Print & Prepare’ function allows the operator to load a new job while the previous one is still being printed to raise productivity. Jeti Mira also features optional varnish ink to create glossy effects and 3D lenses for amazing optical illusions.
•    The hybrid Anapurna H3200i LED represents the complete range of Agfa Graphics’ Anapurna printers with LED curing technology for indoor and outdoor applications up to 3.2m printing width on the widest range of substrates (standard 6 colours + white). The hybrid Anapurna i engines up to 2.5m printing width are prepped for integration with an ABF (automatic board feeding) system for enhanced productivity and convenient multi-board feeding.
Integrated production hub with Asanti
Agfa Graphics’ automated Asanti workflow software will be driving all engines. It optimizes and automates the preparation, production and finishing steps of signage products. The core includes automation, colour management, pre-flighting, and job templates. Asanti 3.0 allows for integration with third-party print equipment, so that customers can streamline their complete operation in one production hub.
The Asanti workflow was recently upgraded with integrated tiling so that oversized banners or billboards that extend beyond the maximum printing width can be produced with automatically generated mounting instructions .
Thanks to the integration of Asanti with Agfa Graphics’ PrintSphere, the entire workflow benefits from a simple solution for swift data sharing, while the newest version of StoreFront enables printing companies to automate and manage their web-to-print activities and web shops.
European debut for Avinci
Agfa Graphics’ new soft signage printer Avinci DX3200 will also be demoed at FESPA. Avinci is a robust dye-sublimation printer, which produces high-quality, vivid prints for countless in- and outdoor applications.
Reinhilde Alaert: “Avinci DX3200 features 6 colours (CMYKLcLm) and impresses with its speed and print quality. Avinci has an enormous colour gamut. Next to its state-of-the-art imaging performance, it draws attention with its excellent tonal rendering and fine detail reproduction.”
Spot on: Agfa’s LED UV-curable inks
Agfa Graphics’ specially-formulated UV LED inks can print on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates guaranteeing outstanding print quality and perfect physical characteristics such as adhesion. These include heat-sensitive substrates such as thin slides, self-adhesive sheets and stretchable PVC materials. Agfa UV inks boast a wide colour gamut and high colour vibrancy. The well-known Thin Ink Layer technology from Agfa Graphics guarantees the lowest ink consumption with the highest colour quality thanks to the high pigment load of the inks and Asanti’s dynamic ink splitting and colour management optimization.
“All of Agfa’s UV-curable inks – white and colour – offer stable jetting performance and deliver the same high-quality results, batch after batch,” Alaert continues. “The new Jeti Tauro LED is also designed for use with these first-rate inks, which offer high image longevity, excellent outdoor resistance and supreme adhesion, even on challenging substrates.”
