California based Colorep has developed AirDye technology which they claim uses 95% less water to create prints, and up to 88% less water to create solid colours, compared to typical textile industry water consumption. It allows fabrics to be brilliantly coloured, including different patterns on each side.

AirDye technology employs air instead of water to help the dye penetrate the fibre, a process that Colorep claims uses no water and requires less energy.
